This policy explains how Code Terminal collects and uses personal data through this website, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are

What we collect
When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address and the message you write, and any other details you choose to provide. When you apply through our careers form we collect the details you submit about your background. We also receive basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested in our server logs.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use contact and application details to reply to you and to take steps you ask for before entering a contract (legitimate interests and contract). We use server logs to keep the site secure and working (legitimate interests). If you subscribe to updates, we send them on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website and handle enquiries, such as hosting, email and form-handling providers, under appropriate agreements, or where the law requires it. We operate from offices in the United Kingdom and Pakistan, so enquiry data may be accessed by our team in either country. Pakistan is not covered by a UK adequacy decision, so where personal data is transferred there we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, and limit access to those who need it. Some of our providers may also process data outside the UK under similar safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months unless they become a client relationship, in which case we keep records as needed for the contract and legal obligations. Job applications are kept for up to 12 months. Server logs are kept for a short period, typically no more than 90 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable format and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email hello@codeterminal.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
